We’ve got some amazing entertainers, world-class fireworks, two incredible parades and a whole lot of merriment coming up for Carnavál de Mazatlán—the oldest Carnavál in Mexico! Things may be a bit different from prior years due to the construction on the malecón and throughout the city, but we know that 2018 will be a Carnavál to remember!
You can choose “Carnaval” under “Categories” on this site or search these pages using keyword “Carnavál” to read some of the many in-depth stories we’ve written over the years about this terrific event.

About Dianne Hofner Saphiere
There are loads of talented people in this gorgeous world of ours. We all have a unique contribution to make, and if we collaborate, I am confident we have all the pieces we need to solve any problem we face.
I have been an intercultural organizational effectiveness consultant since 1979, working primarily with for-profit multinational corporations. I lived and worked in Japan in the late 70s through the 80s, and currently live in and work from México, where with a wonderful partner we've raised a bicultural, global-minded son. I have worked with organizations and people from over 100 nations in my career.
What's your story?
thank you for fending posts, I miss Mazatlan !
Glad you enjoy them! The city is starting to get excited!
Apparently carnival is being moved 400 meters down the malecon to infront of casa del marina. Near the new park. Can you confirm this? Thanks
Yes, Carnavál party zone will begin at the deer statue in Olas Altas and go north along Paseo Claussen to Zaragoza street this year.
And the fireworks?? I have heard 2 stories. Playa Norte or olas altas?
I do not think they’ll be in Olas Altas, but I have not had final confirmation from Cultura. My guess is they are waiting to see how construction progresses.
